British treasure Adele has been under fire in recent days due to a post she made on social media.
The post was a tribute to London, her ‘beloved’ home city, and to the Notting Hill Carnival, which could not take place this year because of the pandemic.
In her post, Adele is seen wearing a Jamaican bikini and has her hair tied back in Bantu knots. Behind her are also a number of black people, who really don’t seem too bothered about the singer’s hair or outfit.
The loving, liberal left, however, seem to want her head on a spike. More and more accusations of ‘cultural appropriation’ are heading Adele’s way. The allegations are getting stronger as well. American journalist Ernest Owens even went as far to say that Adele’s hairstyle was “in the same category” as ‘blackface’.
Adele did absolutely nothing wrong. She did not treat the hairstyle as if it were her own invention. She was clearly declaring her love and support for Afro-Caribbean culture. She was supporting the Notting Hill Carnival, which is one of the most multi-cultural gatherings in one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world.
Even MP David Lammy (a huge wokeist) came out in support for Adele.
Why has this been made into such a big deal? Because this isn’t Adele’s first crime against the woke brigade. Earlier this year, the 32-year-old also posted a picture of herself after an amazing weight loss transformation. While this post was far more accepted and celebrated, there were still those who accused the singer of ‘body shaming’.
The woke movement has simply damaged race relations, and will only continue to do so.
