Sadiq Khan Wastes Taxpayer Money On Art That “Looks Like A Child Drew It”

The newly re-elected Mayor has tweeted about the new signs for the Piccadilly Circus stop in London, and there have been mixed responses.

Sadiq Khan posted on Twitter yesterday about the new signs in the Picadilly Circus Stop for the #LetsdoLondon campaign.

David Hockney, according to Wikipedia, is one of the most influential British artists of the 20th Century. Many pieces of his work are on display at The National Gallery of Australia, The Museum of Modern Art (New York) and the Art Institute of Chicago. However now Londoners travelling in the Picadilly Circus Station are lucky enough to see his new work, paid for by taxpayers.

Twitter uses were quick to respond with their views:

What was intended as a campaign to encourage London to be a domestic tourist hotspot has unfortunately turned into a laughing stock for the Mayor. The Lets Do London campaign was Khan’s first move when re-elected, and now the rest of the UK eagerly awaits to see what the rest of the £7 million was spent on.
