A Cabinet Minister has savaged a former Remain-supporting lawyer on Twitter following a series of goading tweets.
Michael Gove gave a very witty response to the Director of the Good Law Project, Jo Maugham, following a Twitter thread attacking the Minister.
Jo Maugham gained public prominence after he headed several pro-Remain legal campaigns and has consistently taken the Government to court. He also appeared in the news following an altercation with a fox, where Mr Maugham beat the fox’s head with a bat.
Recently, the Government lost a case regarding the use of public finances when handing out contracts to friends of some of the Downing Street players. The judge in the case ruled that if the Government “continues to fail to publish contract award notices within 30 days, it is doing so in full knowledge it is breaching the law”.
However, the Government will now be appealing the decision, which was subject to much anger at the Good Law Project.

He followed the tweet with another, saying:

He then turned his attention to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove, challenging him to a bet with the proceeds going to charity. He wrote:
